Rain is the result of contacting a saturated cloud of water vapor with a layer of cold air. It is the most common of precipitations and the most beneficial for humanity and other living beings. We can classify the rain as follows.

Convection Rain

They are frequent in equatorial zones, where the rising masses originate from strong air heating.

As they rise, they come into contact with low temperature zones, causing strong condensation and intense precipitation. They are also called summer rains. Usually intense, fast, accompanied by thunder and sometimes hail.

Frontal showers

They occur in areas of low pressure and are always linked to the encounter of air masses with different characteristics (when the higher temperature mass rises, frontal systems are formed). It is less intense and longer lasting.

Relief rains

They occur when the presence of an obstacle forces the rise of air masses, forcing them to reach colder layers. They are also called orographic.

These rains usually occur in mountainous areas, usually on the slopes facing the sea. They occur when damp winds rise and cool upon encountering such a mountainous area.
