Curitiba

Capital of Paraná, Curitiba is the most populous city in the southern region of the country, with an estimated population of 1,864,416 inhabitants (IBGE 2014).

Known worldwide, the municipality has low illiteracy rates and high level of education, being considered a very important economic center of the state of Paraná.

Iguaçu Falls, located between the Iguaçu National Park, Paraná, Brazil (20%), and the Iguazú National Park in Misiones, Argentina (80%), on the border between the two countries.
 

Florianópolis

Capital of Santa Catarina, Florianópolis, called "Floripa" or "Island of Magic", has an estimated population of 461,524 thousand inhabitants (IBGE 2014). The municipality consists of the main island, the mainland and some surrounding small islands.

It has great prominence for the tourism sector, with its beautiful beaches and landscapes, being considered the Brazilian capital with the best Human Development Index (HDI). Florianópolis's economy is strongly based on information technology, tourism and services. The city has 42 beaches and is a hub of boating activity.

Porto Alegre

Capital of Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre is a large city with an estimated population of 1,472,482 million (IBGE 2014), and is therefore the largest city in the state. It has a diverse geography, with hills, lowlands and a large lake, the Guaíba.

It is the capital of the southernmost state of Brazil, 2,027 kilometers from Brasilia, the national capital. The city has a high level of quality of life, is one of the most wooded and literate cities in the country. It is a regional hub for attracting migrants in search of better living, working and study conditions.
